RFID card reader for construction site workers

In 2016, a new act came into force in Norway, requiring all companies that carry out construction and site work, including Norwegian and foreign companies, to give their employees a so-called HSE card. The purpose of this card is to identify the individual workers on site and to indicate the employer of the person. In this way, the HSE card helps to provide a better overview of the organisations present on a construction site. With the help of the RFID card reader, the workers can identify themselves on site.

The company Holte from Norway has decided in favour of the OKW SMART-BOX enclosure range. The enclosure is robust and meets the requirements of IP66, and thus stands up to all the adverse conditions in a construction site environment. The enclosures were painted in the special colour black, with mechanical machining and a matching décor foil with a transparent display window. To create a uniform visual impression, even the cable gland was produced in the special colour black.
